Hello-
I don’t feel like beating around the bush.
My husband has changed a whole house filter before.
Today was our 1 year maintenance to change filters, so I purchased the filters at our local Culligan office in Richmond Indiana.
When my husband changed big blue, there was no filter inside the housing, and there hasn’t been one for an entire year!
Imagine the outrage of knowing that after $5,200.00 and assuming that you have clean water, only to find that our “professionally” installed system has NEVER given us clean water yet- after a full year!
It is Sunday, and no, I haven’t been able to contact anyone yet.
But I will. I am an angry wife who pays each month on this system.
I took lots of pictures of the inside of the sediment filled housing. I have proof.
I need answers, and new filters, and a sanitized system!

Not only is IT an inferior and often non-working system but they LIE+
SO SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THIS VIDEO--TOOK ME 12.45 HOURS TO TRY & "STRAIGHTEN" YET I COULDN'T~WHY SHOULD THAT NOT AGGRAVATE ME TOO? AS THE SYSTEM DOES ALMOST MONTHLY-BUT SINCE THIS LAST MAINTENANCE and REPAIR (THE LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE) IT HAS BEEN *** ALMOST DAILY+ CHECK THIS ONE OUT ==SO YOU CAN SEE THE BLACK WATER IN MY TOILET WHICH-SHOULD NOT BE THERE~AS THE CULLIGAN SYSTEM HAD WATER RUNNING BUT NOT GOING THROUGH THE SYSTEM~BELIEVE ME---AFTER 13 YEARS, I KNOW WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE... AS I WAS TRYING TO "FILM" & SHOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT, THE SYSTEM WAS NOT RUNNING -AS IN DOING IT'S SELF-CLEANING, BUT THERE WAS WATER RUNNING SOMEWHERE. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY WATER RUNNING-HAD NOT FLUSHED THE BOWL, etc.
THEN WHEN I WAS TRYING TO PUT THIS SCREWED UP VIDEO TOGETHER, I HAD TO USE THE BATHROOM. I HAD FLUSHED THE TOILET TO SHOW IN THE VID, HOW THERE IS A CONSTANT RING AROUND THE TOILET-YET IT IS CLEAN. WHEN I WENT IN THE BATHROOM, MY TOILET WATER WAS BLACK! OKAY-NOT BLACK-BLACK but DEFINITELY DARK GREY.
I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN UPLOAD MY INFERIOR VID-LIKE CULLIGAN'S SYSTEM, BUT IT SHOWS A LOT OF RUST ON THE WASHING MACHINE-ETC. PLEASE REMEMBER: I BUILT THE HOUSE IN 1990-91. I PURCHASED THE CULLIGAN "TOP OF THE LINE" (then) in June of 2006. I HAD TO REPLACE THE TOILET 3 TIMES; I REPLACED THE WASHING MACHINE 2; I REPLACED THE DISHWASHER 2; I REPLACED THE BATHROOM SINK & TOILET 3 TIMES!
WHO WANTS A TOILET THAT LOOKS "DIRTY" like IT HAD URINE SOAKING IN IT FOR DAYS! AND I AM ON MY 3 REFRIGERATOR! IT NEVER ENDS WITH THIS PIECE OF JUNK-I "SUSPECT" THEY KNOW IT+ NEXT I WRITE TO THE STOCK-HOLDERS! AND I KNOW HOW+ I WILL GET RESULTS FROM THESE FOLKS BECAUSE IT'S MORE THAN THE DANGEROUS WATER I AM NOW FORCED TO USE-HAVING FOLLOWED ALL THEIR "PROTOCOL" AND WASHING; COOKING; DRINKING IT, BUT THE YEARS & YEARS OF SEVERE ANXIETY IT HAS CAUSED ME-WELL THAT IN ITSELF NEEDS TO BE COMPENSATED FOR!
I HAVE HAD IT CULLIGAN..."REDUCED RATE" FOR ANOTHER SERVICE CALL? NO THANKS. THAT IS WHY I KNOW (and IT is not written on the invoice/work order) NOR DID THE TECHNICIAN TELL ME-THAT I "NEEDED A FEEDER SYSTEM" BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE LAUGHED RIGHT AT HIM; AS THEY WILL NEVER $ELL ME ANOTHER PRODUCT OF THEIRS. I INTEND TO MAKE SURE EVERY HOME OWNER CONSIDERING A "WATER SYSTEM" KNOWS NOT ONLY HOW "INFERIOR" THIS IS; BUT HOW IT WILL RUIN THEIR PLUMBING-POCKET-AND "NERVES".
THANKS SO MUCH CULLIGAN+++ WHAT "HONEST TO GOODNESS CRAP"! THERE (like the Lemon Law for AUTO'S) MUST BE AN AGENCY OF THE GOVERNMENT REGULATING A UNIT THAT IS SO UNHEALTHY IN SO MANY WAYS.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY FOLKS or CONSIDER IT A "GAMBLE" MAYBE YOU WILL GET "LUCKY" AND GET A "FUNCTIONING ONE". I SURE as *** DID NOT+

CULLIGAN of Newburgh, NY resolved my water problems & want to NOTE THIS+ AS "THEY" WERE VERY GOOD TO ME, UNDERSTOOD MY FRUSTRATION & fears~and came to my AID immediately!
I cannot say thanks enough to Brian & Joe~for FIXING THIS ISSUE...
SO I would like to RETRACT my "emotional complaint" on here.
Ps~they DID NOT CHARGE me for this service call+

UPDATE 09/02/19 I commenting on my OWN COMMENT just to apologize that IT is incomprehensible; AS I was SO UPSET (STILL AM) AS Culligan has stated that when they come for the YEARLY SERVICE CALLS, ALL THESE "PROBLEMS ARE EVIDENT" TO THIER TECHNICIANS, BUT because of their being "aware" of my seriously LOW INCOME-"THEY*-CULLIGAN don't TELL me because they realize I cannot afford it. Then WHY would I even bother w/THE YEARLY Maintenance/YEARLY "service calls"??
ISN'T THE SERVICE CALL TO RESOLVE ISSUES BEFORE THEY BECOME TOO COSTLY? THE TECH SHOWED ME THE LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE the second time he came. I KNOW IT'S CULLIGAN (VERY EXPENSIVE) AND "THEIR PART" [approx $39.00 for that tiny piece]! My water STILL "STANK"!
The second time a TECH came, after me speaking to a Manager there, whom told me of the "damage" my complaints have caused them, the TECH showed me a four inch length of narrow hose! NOW -THAT was SUPPOSED to "be the problem"! So this would have been 3 different "SERVICE CALLS"! @ $150.00 PLUS NYS SALES TAX---HOW IS THAT "CULLIGAN SO CONCERNED ABOUT MY LACK OF "AFFORDABILITY"?
TO TOP THIS "ALL OFF"-I WAS MADE TO FEEL GUILTY REGARDING MY COMPLAINT HERE! I ALSO COMPLAINED DIRECTLY TO THIER WEB-SITE; THE HOME OFFICE (though I believe this IS A "FRANCHISE") SO APPROX $ 450.00 "NOT COUNTING MY GREAT STATES SALES TAX" for that plastic piece? OR THE HOSE-THAT WASN'T ORANGE LIKE ALL MY APPLIANCES...I was not down there with him & he could have had IT in his pocket for ALL I KNOW. WHAT I DO KNOW-IS I HAVE HAD THE VERY "STINKY WATER" SINCE THE END OF MAY 2019!
I STILL CAN'T DRINK IT! AND THEM ADDING "BLEACH" W/O LETTING ME KNOW CAUSED AN EXTREMELY "HARMFUL GAS" like mixing Ammonia & Bleach, with me previously using the 5 gallons of VINEGAR! I CANNOT "KNOW ENOUGH" but this MAY HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF WHATEVER IS GOING ON IN MY GALL-BLADDER now! Of course NO ONE will prove this-but IT IS POSSIBLE!
I $TILL BELIEVE THERE ARE BETTER WATER SYSTEMS OUT THERE-AND JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE THE FIRST [that I am AWARE OF] DOES NOT MAKE "IT BETTER NOR AFFORDABLE"! 3 SERVICE CALLS? FOR A LITTLE PIECE OF PLASTIC? Okay-but NO ONE HAS TOLD ME "WHY" I have had to put up w/this water!
OR THAT I HAVE TO USE IT TO COOK WITH! I DON'T DRIVE due to my burn injuries AS WELL as me having to PAY FOR WATER-NOW? AFTER ALL THE YEARS OF SALT & FILTERS [over $30 DOLLARS A POP---B-4 SALES TAX? PLUS THE ANNUAL SERVICE CALLS-WHERE I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW "WHAT IS DONE"?
SO WHAT IS this call FOR? TO "FIND SOMETHING WRONG W/IT"? SO I AM CHARGED MORE? IT IS NOW SEPT 2019 & STILL DEALING W/THE ODOROUS WATER!
AND COOKING W/IT? I DO GET A COUPLE OF GALLONS OF WATER A DAY from my neighbor to use for COFFEE & TEA! BUT WATER I USE FOR BOILING VEGETABLES? OR EVEN-WASHING THEM?
I COULD GO ON ENDLESSLY! AS THIS HAS JEOPARDIZED MY HEALTH-EVEN FURTHER!!!
